Woman Travel Home Page>Nature woman tour

Mother Nature smiled on the Montana Bella's for our 2nd Annual Women's Tour. Rain

threatened. The higher elevations had snow! We were asked constantly what about the weather? I said, "We're riding. Rain or shine. Women are tough."

Are they ever. In the end, some 190 women came with their bikes - road, mountain, comfort, tandem, 'cross - and rode either 15-, 22-, or 40-miles! I'm humbled and proud that so many women - all ages, sizes, and abilities - are brought together by a bicycle.

We learned our lessons from last year when we were overwhelmed with 164 riders. I expected maybe we'd have 50. I'm glad I was wrong. This year we had pre-event packet pick-up at a local bike shop, had road guards out at the worst intersections, and staggered our start times so more could be there for the kid's ride and the post-event door prize drawing.

We also invited a local group to come and sell bike helmets for a bargin. Montana VB also bought some helmets for kids and others. We're already giving them away.

I'm so proud of our growing number of Bella Fellas. They helped pump up tires, fix flats, hand out food and beverages, direct traffic, and shout encouragement to their wives, daughters, sisters, co-workers, and fellow (did I really write that?) human beings and cyclists. Of course it didn't hurt that I kept the "boys" happy with hamburgers and beers.

Welcome to Woman’s World Travel!

True happiness comes when you pursue something you love or are passionate about – for Woman’s World Travel, that’s travel. It is one of life’s greatest escapes, and gives

everyone the chance to experience moments that arecompletely their own. Time is too precious to be put on hold and no one wants to look back on all the “what ifs”. Woman’s World Travel has taken their hopes and dreams and turned them into a remarkable set of journeys for women of all ages to participate in. They have built a company where the focus is to allow the women who travel with them to be themselves. They will provide the support, encouragement, and inspiration, and give you the freedom to do what you want to do, and to be who you are without any apologies. You will explore not only who you are as a woman, but explore the world, learn about new cultures, expand your borders, step outside your comfort zones, and come home with a clearer understanding that happiness is not a destination, it’s a way of life.

City Tour and the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront

This morning we embark on a half-day, private, comprehensive city orientation tour starting with a trip up Table Mountain by cable car (weather permitting). The state-of-the-art cable car rotates 360¡ on its way to the top, offering a panoramic view. At the summit are short walks to enjoy the magnificent vistas. Other highlights of our half-day tour include a brief tour of the Malay Quarter, city centre, Company Gardens and Castle of Good Hope. We will then travel to Milnerton Lighthouse for an opportunity to photograph Table Mountain, a brief stop at Diamond Works and then return to our hotel to freshen up before making our way to Victoria & Alfred Waterfront where we will spend the remainder of the afternoon sightseeing in the city, with options to shop, relax or visit a museum and then enjoy dinner together. Life in Cape Town centers around the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront - a working harbour, historical site and pulsating place of gathering. It offers everything from upmarket shopping malls, arts and crafts markets, theatres, live music to entertainment. The history of the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront dates back to 1860, when Prince Alfred, Queen Victoria’s second son, tipped the first rock for construction on Cape Town’s original breakwater. The original Alfred basin could not handle the increased shipping volumes brought by the advent of steam, and subsequently a larger basin, the Victoria Basin, was built. In 1988 the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront Company was given the mandate to develop the historic harbour basins to combine tourism and commerce, with the continuing operation of the working harbour.
