About
Keri Russell
|
|
With green eyes, clear skin, and a
head of hair that any pre-Raphaelite would envy, Keri Russell became one of
the most recognizable young actresses of the late 1990s. Propelled to fame
by her title role on the WB Network's Felicity, Russell quickly endeared
herself to critics and viewers with her searching and honest portrayal of a
college freshman facing life on her own for the first time.
Keri Russell had the lead role in the coming-of-age television drama
Felicity (1998-2002). Her previous acting jobs included three years on The
New Mickey Mouse Club, a role on the 1996 Aaron Spelling drama Malibu Shores
and several made-for-TV movies. She has also appeared in feature films,
including Dead Man's Curve (1998, with Matthew Lillard), We Were Soldiers
(2002, starring Mel Gibson) and The Upside of Anger (2004, starring Kevin
Costner). In 2004 she was named as a cast member of Steven Spielberg's
television miniseries Into the West.
"People still take it really personally. They come up to me at breakfast
places like, 'When are you growing your hair back?'" -Keri Russell, on her

Keri Russell's Birthday |
Keri
Lynn Russell was born in Fountain Valley, California, on March 23, 1976.
Most of her early childhood was spent living in Texas, before her parents
decided to move to Mesa, Arizona. Russell took a serious interest in
entertainment at an early age. At Poston Jr. High School, she discovered a
passion for dancing, and soon applied for ballet and jazz dance lessons.
Her dancing skills allowed her to tour the country as a member of the Mesa
Stars Dance and Drill team, where she eventually received a prestigious
scholarship.
Just before she started high school, Russell's family moved to Denver,
Colorado. Keri claims that she did not make many friends, which allowed her
to concentrate on her performing career. She soon appeared on Star Search,
where she was discovered by Disney's talent scouts.

Keri Russell as Actress
|
|
Russell landed her first film role in 1992's Honey, I Blew Up the Kid. After
her TV commitment ended, Russell moved to Los Angeles and in 1996 was cast
in Aaron Spelling's Malibu Shores. In the same year, she did more film work
in the little-seen The Babysitter's Seduction, and she continued her film
work in 1997 with the comedy Eight Days a Week. In 1998, with her career
flagging, Russell got her big break playing confused college freshman
Felicity Porter, a part she nearly wasn't considered for because the show's
creators felt she was too beautiful to have the problems her character did.
Suddenly the subject of countless interviews and magazine covers, Russell
found herself as one of television's hottest commodities, especially in the
wake of the Golden Globe she netted for her portrayal of Felicity.
Unsurprisingly, this new status led to a new range of opportunities,
including her role in The Curve (1998), a thriller which had its premiere at
Sundance and co-starred Matthew Lillard |

Keri Russell Makes Mission Impossible
Bearable |
|
|
So, if you
don't already know, Mission: Impossible III is coming out very soon, May
5, to be exact. But what with that whole thing about Tom Cruise being a
tool, well, let's just say my interest level has fallen considerably.
But there are still a couple reasons that I'm going to be seeing this
movie. First, it's directed by J.J. Abrams, creator of Alias and Lost.
So, there's potential there. But more importantly, it's also starring
Keri Russell. And it doesn't take much more than that to get my
attention.
Also, it'll be a hell of a lot of fun laughing at what a tool Tom Cruise
is in the time that Keri Russell isn't on screen.

Keri Russell Nude in Vanity Fair
|
|
So,
I've heard a lot of chatter on the web about this latest issue of Vanity
Fair being really boring, but if this spectacular picture of Keri
Russell nude is any indication, I think it should be a very interesting
issue indeed. Sure, you can't see any of the "naughty bits," but it is
Vanity Fair, after all. Though, that didn't stop us from seeing Sienna
Miller topless in the last issue... Enough talking... |
| Keri Russell in MI:3 |
|
If
you spend your time watching the Felicity DVDs like I do (what!), then
you'll like this bit of Keri Russell news brought your thanks to Coming
Soon:
Keri Russell will star in Paramount’s Mission: Impossible 3, reuniting the
actress with director J.J. Abrams, who created Russell-starrer Felicity.
Russell is set to portray a trainee agent mentored by Tom Cruise’s Ethan
Hunt character in the film, set to begin shooting July 18 in Italy. The role
had been filled last year by Scarlett Johansson before the film was delayed.
Ving Rhames will reprise his role as Luther Stickel. Michelle Monaghan,
Jonathan Rhys Meyers and Philip Seymour Hoffman are also part of the cast.
I guess those Lindsay Lohan casting rumours weren't quite right after all.
Didn't Lindsay start those herself?
Let's all just hope that once the publicity-induced TomKat beast implodes,
Keri will be smart enough not to be tricked into any Scientology-related
Cruise-tastic action.
