Sumeet Sachdev aka Gomzy of Kyunki…is back. Yes, he did a stint in Karam Apnaa Apnaa, but this time around he'll be seen in a full-fledged pivotal role. The show in question is the Balaji latest daily, Khwaish, to be aired on Sony.
ARCHITECT CUM ACTER
Mihir Virani’s ‘death’ and his subsequent return about a year and a half ago in the serial Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi had made him a house-hold name. But, for his son Gautam Virani, who has stepped onto the scene supposedly 20 years later, gaining popularity has been much simpler. In just three months, he’s impressed the audiences. That’s Sumeet Sachdev, the 26-year-old actor from Delhi, who is playing the haughty young Gautam Virani in the magnum opus. Sumeet is an architect but the acting bug didn’t allow him to design buildings for more than two years. .
ARROGANT ON SCREEN BUT CALM IN REAL LIFE
The arrogant young Gautam Virani is very different from a calm Sumeet Sachdev, he says. “I rarely lose my temper. In fact, when I accepted the role, my mother was very worried about how I would manage to be angry on screen all the time,” he says laughing.
The negative shade to Gautam’s character does not make it any less adorable, he feels. “Gautam’s not really bad. He’s just messed up because of his upbringing. I think the audience has accepted him with his weaknesses. The response I’ve got from people is tremendous,” he says.
Sumeet is not a television-buff, but he does not miss watching his serial. “I am my biggest critic. I know exactly when I’ve done a good job and when I could have done better”. Very choosy about TV serial offers, he says, “I’m concentrating on KSBKBT. There have been many offers but fortunately today I am in a position where I can choose the kind of roles I’d like to do”. Films, quite naturally, will be the next step for this actor too. But, no, he’s not going to quit KSBKBT. “ The question doesn’t arise of quitting the serial,” is his emphatic reply.
ONLY BALAJI
Like all Balaji actors, Sumeet too had been approached by various production houses, but he chose to be loyal. He explains, "Life with Balaji is convenient. There is no other production house that has offered me a role that's out of the world." Seems he wants to stick with the ruling star.
And how can Sumeet be away from his maiden show for long? Yes, he will soon be seen in Kyunki…... "I am happy to be back on my show," he says with excitement in his voice. He's also charged up about his next much awaited and talked about Balaji show, Karbon Kopy. "The shooting is all most complete but due to some hitch the show is not aired yet." Besides Sachdev, KK also stars Karan Grover, Shubha Verma and Yash Tonk.

No, he's not interested in films. Today, there are very few good films and very few film-makers who he would like to work with. He have a wandering mind and cannot easily decide what to do. Actually, He do not want to a part of a rat race because even if you win it you are still a rat.
